What's possible with Permaculture
Here at Monsoon Design, we envision a future where our neighbors live healthier, happier lives in tune with nature. With 6+ year experience in multiple disciplines across the sustainability spectrum, we’re working to bring that vision to fruition by helping our shared community to begin the transition into a more sustainable way of living.
Looking to live aligned with nature? Looking to grow your own delicious and nutritious food? Save water? Attract and support native pollinators and wildlife? Reduce waste and your carbon footprint? Create a beautiful space for you and your community to enjoy?
We’re here to bring your dream to fruition too
What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is a design system that creates productive, beautiful, sustainable landscapes through observing and mimicking nature while recognizing and accounting for all living things that will be impacted by the space, both today and tomorrow. A permaculture landscape will create its own fertility, produce no waste, conserve and appropriately utilize water, encourage biodiversity, and produce some of the most beautiful and nutrient dense food that you’ve ever tasted.
In traditional landscapes, precious resources are removed from the land through weed pulling, tree trimming, leaf raking, etc. while new resources have to be added regularly in the form of fertilizers to keep the space alive. We seek to close that nutrient loop, utilizing every part of your space to continuously improve upon itself year after year.
There is no waste in nature, so instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, we take lessons from the planet that have been developing these systems for millions of years and bring that ancient wisdom into your garden.
Imagine your landscape on a warm spring day, blooming with colorful wildflowers, birds singing, pollinators buzzing, the smells of the orange blossoms fill the air as the dappled light trickles in through your trees. Your garden is bursting with delicious fruits and vegetables, ready to be picked and eaten by your family, better than anything you’ve ever tasted from a grocery store. After a fresh meal, your food scraps are returned to the garden to continue the cycle that helps your space to flourish. As it rains, the water moves slowly through your landscape, and the earth spreads it out and stores it for the hot days ahead, making sure not to waste a drop. No weeds to pull, no poison to spray, no leaves to rake, only healthy nutrient dense food to harvest and a beautiful, abundant space to enjoy with your family. All of this is possible with permaculture, and your dream space is only a consultation away.
